Still Jonesing

As I've mentioned before, I enjoyed Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, warts and all (and it has enough warts to speak for the entire Indy saga). Yet I feel like I need to share two excellent links that point out fundamental flaws that could easily have been remedied in the script stage.

The first is a rather long but fascinating article by my friend Jonathan London, which dissects the screenplay almost element by element and scene by scene. I agree with everything. Except the monkeys, Jonathan. I know I'm likely alone on this, but I laughed out loud with the monkeys.

The second is the by-now (in)famous "nuke the fridge" syndrome, which I happen to find dead-on, but also I envy because I wish I could have seen it for the obvious goof it is...

...and yet I thought it was pretty damn cool.
